<h1>ED arrests private university trust chairman under Prevention of Money Laundering Act after raids, seizing cash, tracing shell firms</h1> The Enforcement Directorate arrested the chairman of a private university trust under criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after day-long simultaneous searches at about 25 premises linked to the trust and its university, seizing cash and tracing at least nine shell companies. The raids form part of a probe into alleged financial irregularities, use of accommodation entities and money laundering connected to the ongoing investigation of a car blast near a national monument that killed 15 people. The ED has relied on FIRs by national anti-terror and local police agencies and is producing the accused for remand.
