<h1>Centre's fiscal deficit hit 36.5% of the annual target in H1 FY26 with Rs 5.73 lakh crore gap.</h1> The Centre's fiscal deficit for April-September 2025 was Rs 5,73,123 crore, equal to 36.5% of the full year target; the annual deficit is estimated at 4.4% of GDP (Rs 15.69 lakh crore). Receipts to September totaled Rs 16.95 lakh crore (49.6% of BE), comprising Rs 12.29 lakh crore net tax revenue, Rs 4.6 lakh crore non tax revenue, and Rs 34,770 crore non debt capital receipts.
