<h1>Rupee ends flat at 88.69 against US dollar after volatile session; FIIs sell Rs3,077.59 crore may trigger disclosures</h1> The domestic currency finished unchanged at 88.69 versus the US dollar after intraday volatility, following opening at 88.60, intraday high 88.59 and low 88.78; prior session saw a 47-paise decline after comments by the US central bank chair and uncertainty in the labour market reduced expectations of a near-term rate cut, notwithstanding a 25-basis-point reduction in policy rates by the US central bank. The dollar index rose, Brent crude futures fell, major domestic equity indices declined, and foreign institutional investors registered net equity sell-offs of Rs 3,077.59 crore, which may trigger market disclosure or regulatory monitoring obligations.
