<h1>Airport customs seize 6.554 kg suspected marijuana from two passengers; NDPS Act probe, arrests and forensic testing follow</h1> Customs officers at an international airport intercepted two arriving passengers after profiling and x-ray screening and discovered 6,554 grams of a green narcotic substance in sealed packets within their luggage; a presumptive diagnostic test indicated ganja/marijuana, valued at about Rs 6.5 crore. The individuals were arrested and the contraband seized. The matter will proceed as an NDPS Act investigation with seizure report, forensic confirmation, custodial interrogation and possible criminal prosecution for unlawful importation, possession and trafficking of narcotics; evidentiary chain and airport surveillance/CCTV will be relevant to prosecution and defence.
