<h1>Pilot extends National Pension System coverage to 5,000 drivers with mobility-platform employer contributions and 50 PANs issued</h1> A national pension regulatory authority, in partnership with a state mobility platform and a pension fund manager, launched a pilot under the National Pension System to extend retirement coverage to about 5,000 drivers in the state, distributing 50 permanent account numbers at rollout. The mobility platform will make contributions to participating drivers' NPS accounts. The initiative, supported by the state transport department, formalizes pension access for informal workers, implicates regulatory oversight, employer-contribution arrangements, and data enrollment processes, and advances policy objectives of widening social security and long-term retirement savings.
