<h1>New maritime simulation centre launched through university-industry partnership with INR 13.5 crore funding to boost cadet training</h1> A union minister inaugurated a new maritime simulation centre established through a strategic partnership between a deemed maritime university and a global shipping firm, funded with INR 13.5 crore including an approximately INR 6.5 crore foundation contribution. The facility houses Full Mission Deck and Engine simulators, ECDIS units and AR/VR laboratories to provide immersive training in watchkeeping, steering, collision avoidance, navigation light identification and engine troubleshooting. The centre aims to bridge academic learning and real-world operations, enhance cadet practical skills before sea deployment, and reinforce the institute's role in developing skilled maritime professionals.
