National enforcement agency to lead Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for Asia-Pacific in 2026, boosting cross-border asset recovery cooperation
A national enforcement agency will assume the 2026 presidency of a regional Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for Asia-Pacific, stating the role offers a chance to strengthen international cooperation on tracing, freezing and recovering proceeds of crime. The network is an informal practitioner platform enabling direct information exchanges between member contact points to expedite transnational cooperation and enhance law enforcement effectiveness. The agency said the presidency will deepen synergies with global initiatives, promote stronger international partnerships to tackle proceeds of crime and facilitate sharing of its expertise in combating financial crime and money laundering; another member state holds the current chair.
