Works included removal of 105,000 cubic metres of silt, bund strengthening, 435 metres of toe wall construction and sluice gate renovation. The project is projected to directly benefit about 27,000 residents and indirectly nearly 120,000 through groundwater recharge and flood mitigation, extend farming by 3-5 months annually, raise the water table by about 10 feet and expand cultivation by roughly 20%.
