ED secures four-week custodial remand of two former IAS officers under PMLA in alleged NAN scam probe
A special court granted the Enforcement Directorate four weeks' custodial remand of two former IAS officers in a money-laundering probe under the PMLA connected to the alleged Nagrik Apurti Nigam (NAN) scam. The officers surrendered after the Supreme Court set aside their anticipatory bail and allowed ED custody; they are to be taken to Delhi for interrogation and will be produced on October 16. The ED's 2019 ECIR stems from an ACB/EOW FIR and chargesheet concerning alleged diversion and quality lapses in the civil supplies system, including raids in 2015 that seized unaccounted cash and reported substandard food items.
