Chief electoral officer orders Special Intensive Revision: parties to appoint booth-level agents, BLOs finish matching, Aadhaar considered
The state chief electoral officer convened a meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, directing all recognised national and state-level political parties to appoint booth-level agents (BLAs) by September 30 and submit authorised officials' lists to the CEO and district election authorities. The SIR follows Election Commission guidelines and a Supreme Court order permitting the exercise while advising consideration of Aadhaar as an identity document. Electoral rolls will be cross-verified against the 2002 list; voters present on both lists need no additional documents but must complete an enumeration form. BLOs must finish matching by September 20, and the ECI is enabling searchable voter data.
