<h1>USD 126.42M loan to boost sustainable tourism, climate-resilient infrastructure, and local jobs and livelihoods around Tehri Lake</h1> A national government and a multilateral development bank signed a USD 126.42 million loan to promote rural development through sustainable tourism in the Tehri Lake region of Uttarakhand. The project will support improved tourism planning, upgraded infrastructure, sanitation and waste management, disaster preparedness, and nature-based solutions to reduce landslide and flood risks, targeting over 87,000 residents and 2.7 million annual visitors. Interventions include institutional strengthening, climate-resilient infrastructure, and inclusive tourism services led by women, youth, and the private sector to generate jobs, diversify incomes, and build climate resilience.
