<h1>Foreign national arrested for supplying Aadhaar-linked SIMs to foreign intelligence, allegedly targeting defence installations; case under Sections 61(2) and 152.</h1> A foreign national was arrested for allegedly procuring and supplying Indian SIM cards, obtained using Aadhaar credentials, to a foreign intelligence agency in exchange for promises of a US visa and employment, and for gathering information on sensitive defence installations. Authorities say at least 16 SIMs were sent abroad and 11 were actively used from foreign locations to contact Indian Army personnel via social media; digital devices and SIM envelopes were recovered. A case under sections 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) and 152 (acts endangering sovereignty and integrity) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered and investigations to identify associates, courier networks and handlers are ongoing.
