<h1>New EV testing facility launched to certify batteries and components, boost domestic manufacturing and national EV quality goals</h1> A Union Minister will inaugurate a new electric vehicle (EV) testing facility at a regional laboratory in Kolkata, offering advanced testing and certification for EV batteries and components, including electrical safety, FCC/ISED compliance, functional safety, durability, climate, IP rating, UV exposure, corrosion resistance and mechanical safety tests. The facility aims to provide internationally recognised testing to support regulatory compliance, early fault detection and product reliability, reduce import dependence, lower barriers for domestic manufacturers-particularly in eastern India-and bolster national EV quality assurance in furtherance of the government's 2030 EV penetration and emissions-reduction goals.
