Eligibility requires vehicles be over 50 years from first registration, retain original chassis/body/engine, and fall within specified categories (two- or four-wheelers); some types (e.g., tractors) are excluded. Applications are verified by Motor Vehicle Inspectors with photographic records and processed within 60 days. Fees are Rs 20,000 for new vintage RCs and Rs 5,000 for renewal; RCs are valid 10 years and then renewable every five years. Vintage vehicles are exempt from HSRP, bear a unique number format, and are prohibited from daily or commercial use, with the restriction noted on the RC.
