The meeting, the 15th leader-level summit, aimed to yield concrete outcomes in trade and investment; bilateral trade was USD 22 billion in 2023-24 and Japan is India's fifth-largest FDI source with USD 43.2 billion cumulative investment through December 2024. Former Japanese prime ministers also held meetings with the Indian leader.
