<h1>State legislator arrested under PMLA in alleged multi-state illegal betting racket; Rs 12 crore, gold, silver seized</h1> A state legislator was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate under anti-money-laundering laws in an alleged illegal online and offline betting racket; authorities seized cash totalling about Rs 12 crore (including foreign currency), gold jewellery worth Rs 6 crore, roughly 10 kg of silver and four vehicles during multi-state raids. The legislator, taken into custody in a northeastern state while on a purported business trip to lease a casino, was produced before a magistrate and placed on transit remand for production before the jurisdictional court in the state capital where the Bengaluru zone ED is investigating. Property documents were also seized from relatives and associates reportedly operating gaming from abroad.
