The accused reportedly used a vehicle displaying the national emblem and 'Income Tax Department' markings to gain trust, created an email account in the victim's name and retained its password to file returns without consent, and threatened the victim when questioned. Authorities have registered a criminal case and are probing possible offences including cheating, impersonation, identity theft, unauthorized access to communications, intimidation and misuse of official insignia.
