New Delhi | August 12, 2025 — As part of her ongoing dance therapy initiative, Nrityaamrit, Shambhavi Sharma conducted a special healing session at the OPD ward of Primus Super Speciality Hospital, Chanakyapuri. Known for combining the grace of Kuchipudi with the intent of emotional healing, Shambhavi continues to explore the therapeutic possibilities of classical dance in clinical settings.

The session, held on August 2, featured a Kuchipudi performance choreographed under the guidance of her revered Gurus, Padma Bhushan awardees Shri Raja and Radha Reddy. Patients and attendants alike were drawn into the meditative rhythm and expressive storytelling, finding a welcome reprieve from the clinical environment.

“The moment I began dancing, I sensed a shift in the energy of the room,” said Shambhavi. “There was curiosity, yes—but more importantly, there was a gradual unburdening, as if the rhythm and movement brought in a little calm where it was needed the most.” Several patients shared reflections on their experience.

“I was feeling tense and in pain,” said Smt. Teena. “But after watching the performance, I felt my pain ease away. I am feeling more relaxed.” Smt. Tanya echoed the sentiment, adding, “More such sessions should be held at the hospital. They offer a deep sense of relief.” The session is part of a growing effort to integrate traditional art forms into holistic care models. Through Nrityaamrit, Shambhavi continues to bring Kuchipudi to hospitals, care homes, and community spaces—fostering not just cultural connection, but also emotional well-being.
