Maharashtra CM Thanks PM for Launching Longest Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat Train, Proposes Direct Route Plan
The Maharashtra Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for launching the Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat train, which is the longest route among Vande Bharat trains, covering 881 km in 12 hours with stops at major stations. The train enhances connectivity between Vidarbha, north Maharashtra, and Pune. The launch was part of a broader initiative that included three new Vande Bharat trains aimed at improving regional connectivity and reducing travel time. The Chief Minister highlighted concerns about the current route, which is longer by over 100 km due to detours, and proposed a direct route from Nagar to Pune to benefit industrial areas. He suggested integrating a new expressway with the railway to expedite construction, reduce distance, and save time.
