<h1>Approval of a central sector education scheme to fund multidisciplinary improvement in technical institutions and departmental capacity.</h1> Approval of the central sector MERITE program establishes multi year central funding combined with external assistance to strengthen multidisciplinary teaching, research, and institutional capacity in selected government and government aided engineering institutions, polytechnics and affiliating technical universities, while providing capacity support to state and UT technical education departments and targeted benefits for a defined student population.
