Vietnamese photographer wins $10,000 grand prize at global wetlands photography festival with 11,835 entries
The 16th Greenstorm Global Photography Festival announced winners for its 'Beautiful Wetlands' theme, attracting 11,835 entries from 155 countries. A Vietnamese photographer won the $10,000 grand prize, while photographers from Turkey, UAE, and Costa Rica received $1,000 special jury mentions. The G20 Global Land Initiative sponsored the festival for the second consecutive year. According to the 2025 Global Wetland Outlook, wetlands are disappearing faster than any other ecosystem, with one-fifth expected to vanish by 2050 without urgent action, representing $39 trillion in lost benefits. The festival aims to raise environmental awareness among youth through visual storytelling. Winners will be displayed at the Convention on Wetlands meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The Greenstorm Foundation, based in Kerala, India, has engaged over 12 million young minds across 150+ countries since 2009.
