The scheme will launch in October during the rabi season, implementing through convergence of 36 existing schemes across 11 departments along with state and private sector partnerships. Districts will be selected based on low productivity, cropping intensity, and credit disbursement indicators, with minimum one district per state. The initiative focuses on crop diversification, sustainable practices, post-harvest storage enhancement, irrigation improvements, and credit facilitation. District, state, and national committees will oversee implementation, with progress monitored through 117 key performance indicators. The scheme aims to reduce yield gaps between regions and achieve agricultural self-reliance.
