<h1>Transport Ministry allows cab aggregators to charge double base fare during peak hours under new 2025 guidelines</h1> The road transport ministry issued Motor Vehicles Aggregator Guidelines 2025 allowing cab aggregators to charge up to double the base fare during peak hours, increased from the previous 1.5 times limit. During non-peak hours, minimum fare must be 50 percent of base fare. Base fare applies to minimum three kilometers to cover dead mileage. States must adopt guidelines within three months. Cancellation penalties of 10 percent fare up to Rs 100 apply to both drivers and passengers without valid reasons. Aggregator licenses cost Rs 5 lakhs, valid for five years. Drivers require Rs 5 lakh health and Rs 10 lakh term insurance. Vehicles over eight years old cannot be onboarded.
