New Delhi, May 31 (PTI) "We can't make false promises," said Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday while underlining that public welfare and structural reforms have been prioritised by her government which has completed 100 days.

Speaking at a public programme at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here to mark the BJP's 100 days in power, she emphasised that her administration has put focus on policy formulation and accused the previous government of neglecting civic facilities in the national capital.

"My government spent 100 days in making policies and working for the betterment of Delhi," she said, adding, "We can't make false promises. We are working honestly to solve issues like the cleaning of the Yamuna and removal of garbage dumps." Making Delhi clean, beautiful and healthy is the Delhi government's priority, the chief minister said in a conversation with film actor Anupam Kher during the programme.

While detailing the BJP government's achievements in the past 100 days, Gupta accused the previous AAP dispensation of neglecting health infrastructure, education and Yamuna pollution, among other sectors.

"They sat in their Sheeshmahal with lavish curtains, tuning into only the news they liked. While they decorated their halls with corruption, we have rebuilt Delhi with honesty." Though the 100 days may be few, they have been transformative for Delhi, Gupta asserted.

"While previous governments only focused on publicity, we approved the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation & Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025, to end the arbitrariness of private schools," she said.

The chief minister highlighted that her government would bring an ordinance to regulate fees charged by private schools.

Gupta also asserted that no slums will be demolished and no one will be displaced unless provided with permanent houses. The government has allocated Rs 700 crore for providing facilities in the slums, she said.

In conversation with Kher, she recited the poem "Main Bhi Sindoor Hun" and asserted that Operation Sindoor, decimating terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was a victory against terrorism.

The event was also attended by all Cabinet Ministers of Delhi government, BJP MPs and MLAs.

She highlighted the previous government merely "put up a show" in the name of cleaning the Yamuna, while untreated sewage continued to flow into it.

In contrast, her government made Yamuna rejuvenation a top priority from the get-go. A Rs 9,000-crore provision was made in the Delhi Jal Board budget to strengthen the sewerage system and water supply infrastructure, the chief minister said.

She said the previous government kept Delhi out of the Ayushman Bharat scheme due to its "ego and stubbornness". The BJP government corrected this in the very first Cabinet meeting, approving the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) in Delhi, Gupta said.

So far, over 3.5 lakh Ayushman cards have been issued, and more than 1.5 lakh senior citizens have benefitted from the scheme. Nearly 80 hospitals have been empanelled, and construction of 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs is underway, she listed.

The chief minister raised concern over the state of medical infrastructure and said the previous government merely showcased health reforms without taking any concrete action. The current state is such that there isn't even one hospital bed per 1,000 people in Delhi, she claimed.

"The Delhi government now pledges to ensure the availability of at least three beds per 1,000 people over the coming years," she said.

The BJP government has taken concrete steps to eliminate legacy waste sites by starting round-the-clock processing and bio-mining of 30,000 metric tons of garbage daily, Gupta added.

"Waste-to-energy plant installations are progressing swiftly. The target is to completely remove the Bhalaswa and Okhla landfill sites within the next two years." She also highlighted the efforts of her government to fight air pollution and boost green energy generation.

Speaking on women's empowerment, the CM highlighted the launch of the "Mahila Samriddhi Yojana," under which financially weak women will receive Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for which Rs 5,100 crore has been allocated for this initiative.

School fee regulation to end arbitrariness, alongside expanded health coverage, slum protection and waste reforms. The administration advanced the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation & Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025 and announced an ordinance to regulate private school fees; restored implementation of a national health entitlement scheme with hospital empanelment and beneficiary issuance; affirmed a non displacement policy without provision of permanent housing alongside targeted slum investments; allocated budgetary measures for sewerage and Yamuna rejuvenation; and initiated waste management reforms and a targeted women's assistance programme.
