The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas rose sharply to US$ 106.40/barrel (bbl) on 12.12.2012. This was higher than to US$ 105.29/bbl on the previous trading day’s figures of 11.12.2012. 

In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 5774.33/bbl on 12.12.2012 from Rs 5719.35/bbl on 11.12.2012. This was due to price increase in dollar terms. Rupee dollar-exchange rate on 12.12.2012 was Rs 54.27/US$ against Rs 54.32/US$ on previous trading day of 11.12.2012.

Crude oil price rebound raises Indian Basket valuation, increases rupee per barrel rate, and shows slight exchange rate movement. International crude oil price for the Indian Basket rose to US$ 106.40 per barrel on 12 December 2012 from US$ 105.29 the previous trading day; in rupee terms the price increased to Rs 5,774.33 per barrel from Rs 5,719.35, with the rupee exchange rate at Rs 54.27 per US dollar.
