It offers life insurance against natural death at no extra cost. The government contributes to the National Pension Scheme (NPS)-Lite and Return and Resettlement fund for five years or until the worker's return to India. Upon returning, subscribers can withdraw their savings or continue with the NPS-Lite. Launched on May 1, 2012, the scheme includes an integrated enrollment process and unique account numbers for subscribers.
