of <h1>Elite Indian Educational Institutions Face Declining Job Placements with IITs, NITs, and IIITs Showing Significant Drops</h1> Congressional concerns have been raised about job market stagnation affecting elite educational institutions in India. According to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education's 364th report, placement rates have declined at IITs, NITs, and IIITs. Between 2021-22 and 2023-24, 22 of 23 IITs saw decreased placements, with 15 experiencing drops exceeding 20 percentage points. The placement rate for BTech students at IITs fell from 90.43% to 80.25%. Additionally, 27 of 31 NITs recorded lower average salary packages, and total placements decreased by 10.77%. These trends indicate employment challenges are affecting even the most prestigious institutions and their highly qualified graduates.
