<h1># Innovative Fuel-Free Sugarcane Processing Technology Achieves Commercial Viability After Four Years</h1> A boiler-less sugarcane processing technology developed by Spray Engineering Devices Ltd (SEDL) has reached commercial viability after four years of operation at Eco Tech Agro Mills in Assam. The Low Temperature-Evaporation system produces jaggery without burning biomass, making the plant fuel-free while recycling water for irrigation. The plant, established with a Rs 50-60 crore investment, is expected to break even in its fourth year despite operating at 40% capacity due to limited sugarcane availability. The technology creates opportunities for utilizing bagasse (sugarcane residue) in paper pulp production, biofuels, and 2G ethanol. Similar plants are operating or being developed in other Indian states.
