Citizens Protest Escalating Fuel and Gas Prices, Demanding Government Accountability for Economic Burden on Households
Political opposition group staged a protest in the capital against recent fuel and gas price increases. The demonstrators accused the government of economic mismanagement and burdening citizens by raising prices of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders, and CNG. They claimed prices have significantly risen compared to previous government periods, with LPG cylinders now costing over Rs 1,000 compared to Rs 400 earlier. The government justified the price adjustments due to input cost increases and international economic factors.
