India Launches Groundbreaking Semiconductor Fab to Boost Domestic Tech Manufacturing and Reduce Import Dependency
India's first Gallium Nitride semiconductor manufacturing plant was inaugurated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with an investment of Rs 1,143 crore. The facility aims to produce 10 billion advanced chips annually by 2030, targeting 5G and 6G networks, defense technologies, and electronics. The project is expected to reduce semiconductor imports, create employment, and position India as a global tech leader in semiconductor production.
