Minimum support prices set for Rabi crops; wheat excluded pending further consultation on its price. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved Minimum Support Prices for specified Rabi crops for 2012-13 to apply to produce marketed in 2013-14, adopting the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices' recommendations. The approval sets crop-specific MSPs for barley, gram, masur (lentil), rapeseed/mustard and safflower and excludes wheat from finalisation pending further consultation, thereby applying the government's price-support policy while reserving a separate consultative process for wheat.
