<h1>Police Attach Rs 167.85 Crore Properties of Five Accused in Co-operative Bank Embezzlement Case Under Section 107 of BNSS</h1> A Mumbai court has permitted police to attach 21 properties worth Rs 167.85 crore belonging to five accused in the New India Co-operative Bank embezzlement case. This marks the first such action in Mumbai under section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which allows attachment of properties derived from criminal activity. The Economic Offences Wing is investigating alleged embezzlement of Rs 122 crore. Properties include a Rs 150 crore Slum Rehabilitation Project, seven flats, shops, and a bungalow belonging to various accused, including a former bank general manager and several businesspersons. Eight individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
