<h1>Assam's Budget Utilisation Reaches 86% in FY 2024-25 with 18% Increase in Capital Expenditure</h1> Assam's budget utilisation improved to 86% in fiscal year 2024-25, up from 80% in the previous year, according to the state's Chief Minister. Total expenditure reached approximately Rs 1,44,617 crore, compared to Rs 1,36,317 crore in 2023-24. Capital expenditure increased by nearly 18% to Rs 25,354 crore from Rs 21,509 crore, demonstrating commitment to infrastructure development. The state began the 2025-26 financial year with a cash balance of Rs 3,035 crore. The Finance Minister had presented a Rs 2.63 lakh crore budget for 2025-26 with a deficit of Rs 620.27 crore, featuring cash incentives for youths and tea garden workers, and tax exemptions for salaried employees.
