Electronics component manufacturing incentives link turnover- and capex-support to employment targets to boost domestic production.
The Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme allocates Rs 22,919 crore over six years (one year gestation) to promote passive components and key sub assemblies, raise domestic value addition, attract investment and create employment. Target segments include display and camera modules, non SMD components, electromechanicals, multi layer PCBs, Li ion cells, enclosures, and advanced bare components like HDI, MSAP, flexible PCBs and SMD passive components. Incentives are differentiated: turnover linked for many segments, hybrid for selected bare components, with part of payouts contingent on employment targets and capex support for manufacturing inputs.
