The searches also targeted other Congress leaders and police officials in Raipur and Durg. The state Congress criticized the ruling party, alleging the BJP uses central agencies against political opponents. Previously, the former CM faced CBI action related to a different case but was discharged of charges. The state government had transferred 70 cases related to the Mahadev scam to the CBI.
