<h1>India Blocks 781,000 SIMs, Thousands of IMEIs and Accounts to Combat Digital Fraud Under Cybercrime Coordination Efforts</h1> Law enforcement agencies in India have blocked over 781,000 SIM cards linked to digital fraud by February 28, 2025. Additionally, 208,469 IMEIs, 3,962 Skype IDs, and 83,668 WhatsApp accounts have been blocked to curb digital fraud. The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been instrumental in these efforts. The Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System, launched in 2021, has helped save approximately Rs 4,386 crore from over 1.3 million complaints. A national cybercrime reporting portal and a toll-free helpline (1930) support public reporting and action against digital crimes.
