Electric Vehicle Prices in India to Match Petrol Vehicles Within Six Months, Says Minister at Convergence India Expo

The Union Road Transport and Highways Minister announced that electric vehicle (EV) prices in India will match those of petrol vehicles within six months. Speaking at the Convergence India and Smart Cities India Expo, he also noted that the Delhi-Dehradun expressway will be completed soon. The government's focus is on import substitution, cost-effectiveness, pollution-free, and indigenous production to boost infrastructure and reduce logistics costs. The minister highlighted the commitment to smart cities and smart transport, including mass rapid transport on electricity, and stressed the importance of innovation in reducing road construction costs.
