<h1>Assam Empowers Women to Geo-Tag PMAY-G Beneficiaries; Self-Help Groups and Community Verification Involved</h1> The Assam government will engage women from self-help groups, known as Jeevika Sakhis, to geo-tag beneficiaries for the Prime Minister Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) housing scheme. This initiative aims to ensure accurate beneficiary identification and allocation of houses. Jeevika Sakhis will conduct preliminary surveys, and individuals can self-geo-tag their homes for verification. In tea garden areas, eligible beneficiaries will receive houses regardless of their economic ties to the gardens. The process involves community verification through gram sabhas and committee reviews. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced financial support for women under the Mahila Udyamita Scheme.
