<h1>GLOF risk monitoring funding proposed to strengthen early warning, mitigation and disaster preparedness measures.</h1> Proposal directs budgetary allocations to strengthen hazard monitoring and mitigation by funding GLOF risk monitoring, early warning systems and mitigation strategies; supporting landslide risk assessment, monitoring and engineering stabilisation under the National Landslide Risk Mitigation Programme; and establishing a dedicated Disaster Mitigation Fund to finance prevention, early warning, preparedness and related investments in tools, manpower and infrastructure while also funding safety coordination for an annual pilgrimage.
