<h1>Jammu and Kashmir Allocates Funds for Glacial Flood Monitoring, Landslide Risk Mitigation, and Disaster Preparedness Initiatives</h1> The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir proposed a Rs 15 crore allocation for monitoring glacial lake outburst flood risks, early warning systems, and mitigation strategies, acknowledging the increasing threats of such floods and landslides. Additionally, Rs 15 crore is allocated under the National Landslide Risk Mitigation Programme for risk assessment and engineering solutions. A Rs 39-crore Disaster Mitigation Fund is also being established to enhance disaster preparedness. The government is committed to ensuring a secure annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine, improving safety measures, and supporting local businesses to boost tourism and create livelihood opportunities.
