The order, resulting from an inquiry into restrictive trade practices, found the company and the Cement Manufacturers Association in violation of the Competition Act, 2002. While other cement companies were previously penalized for similar violations, the CCI directed the penalized company to cease activities related to price-fixing and supply agreements. The investigation originated from reports and a complaint by the Builders Association of India, transferred from the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission.
