MCA Invites Views/Suggestions on the Proposed ‘Multistate Societies Registration Bill, 2012’.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has decided to invite views/suggestions from various Individuals/Experts/Institutions/Organizations interested in the subject matter of the proposed ‘Multistate Societies Registration Bill, 2012’.

All those desirous of submitting views/suggestions may send their written views and suggestions on the Bill to Ministry of Corporate Affairs on e-mail at [email protected] and [email protected]. The person/interested party may also sent their comments/suggestions by post addressed to Smt. Renuka Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Room No. 504, 5th Floor, ‘A’ Wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi or Shri Alok Samantarai, Joint Director, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Room No. 527, 5th Floor, ‘A’ Wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi by 15th of September, 2012.

It may be noted that The Ministry has constituted an Expert Group to study the legislative and regulatory architecture of The Societies Registration Act, 1860 governing the functioning of societies in India and also to study the ground situation with respect to the operation of the said Act so as to identify the regulatory gaps and oversight mechanism with a view to formulate a Model Law on the subject. The Expert Group has submitted its report to the Ministry on 5.07.2012 proposing a legislation titled as ‘Multi-state Societies Registration Bill, 2012’. The Report and the proposed Bill has been uploaded for ready access at the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs viz. www.mca.gov.in.

Multistate Societies Registration Bill invites stakeholder comments on proposed model law to address regulatory gaps and oversight. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has invited written views and suggestions from stakeholders on the proposed Multistate Societies Registration Bill, 2012, supplied email and postal submission routes and a deadline, and posted the Expert Group's report and the proposed Bill on the Ministry website to inform responses.
