During the state assembly's budget session, he noted the efforts of the excise and narcotics department and law enforcement to combat this issue, stressing the need for increased vigilance. The state remained peaceful overall, with no major law and order issues reported last year. Mizoram Police, in collaboration with border forces, are actively patrolling to secure borders. In the current fiscal year, 600 drug traffickers were arrested, and 441 cases were registered under the NDPS Act. Additionally, 4,364 individuals were arrested for violating the Mizoram Liquor (Prohibition) Act, 2019. The budget session will run until March 20.
