<h1>Deadline Extended for High Security Registration Plates on Pre-2019 Vehicles to April 2025; Avoid Rs 1,000 Fine</h1> The Maharashtra transport department has extended the deadline for affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) on vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, to April 30, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance vehicle security and standardize number plates for better traffic rule enforcement. Vehicle owners must comply to avoid a Rs 1,000 fine. Over five lakh vehicles have already been fitted with HSRPs, with more than 2.10 crore vehicles expected to be compliant. Three agencies are appointed to manage the installation across different zones. The cost for HSRP installation ranges from Rs 531 to Rs 879, inclusive of GST.
