Farmers to Meet Government on Feb 14; Demand MSP Guarantee, Debt Waivers, and Pensions to Avoid Renewed Protests.
A 28-member farmers' delegation will meet with the Centre on February 14 to address ongoing issues, including a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Despite not receiving an invitation, the Punjab Finance Minister expressed willingness to attend. The meeting follows four inconclusive rounds of talks last year. Key farmer leaders, including those on hunger strike, will participate. The farmers demand MSP guarantees, debt waivers, pensions, and other concessions. If unresolved, they plan to resume protests. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are leading the agitation, which began over a year ago.
