A decade ago, only 18% of the population received pensionable social security. Now, under the current administration, 48% benefit from social security, excluding state schemes. Additionally, 80 crore people receive food security, and 60 crore benefit from health assurance under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which includes gig workers and those over 70. The National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons offers a monthly pension to eligible traders and self-employed individuals, with contributions matched by the government.
