The cost of a one-minute call dropped from 50 paise to three paise, and one GB of broadband from Rs 270 to Rs 9.70. Despite a recent 10% tariff increase due to 5G investments, India remains the most economical country for data costs. Concerns were raised about a coordinated tariff hike in 2024, burdening users with Rs 34,824 crore.
