NCW and Panjab University Launch Drug Awareness Campaign in Punjab, Focusing on Women's Empowerment and Community Engagement.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) is launching drug awareness campaigns in Punjab to address the state's worsening drug crisis, which has particularly impacted women through domestic violence, health issues, and economic instability. In partnership with Panjab University, the initiative will cover eight districts, focusing on empowering women via education, support services, and community engagement. The campaign begins on January 24 at Panjab University, led by the Punjab Governor and the NCW Chairperson. It aims to highlight the specific challenges women face due to addiction, fostering resilience and dialogue. Additionally, the NCW Chairperson will engage with women at a public hearing and visit incarcerated women in Chandigarh.
