<h1>ASEAN-India Trade Talks in New Delhi Advance Market Access and Tariff Negotiations for Stronger Economic Ties.</h1> The 6th ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) Joint Committee meeting took place in New Delhi from November 21-22, 2024, co-chaired by officials from India and Malaysia. Delegates from all 10 ASEAN countries participated, with discussions focusing on market access, rules of origin, and other trade-related topics. Five out of eight Sub-Committees met physically, making progress in textual discussions and initiating tariff negotiations. Bilateral meetings with Thailand and Indonesia were also held. ASEAN is a significant trade partner for India, with bilateral trade reaching USD 73 billion in April-October 2024. The next meeting is set for February 2025 in Jakarta.
