India Boosts MSME Exporters: Courier Shipments Eligible for Export Benefits from Sept 2024.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has extended export-related benefits for shipments made through courier mode starting September 12, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of MSME exporters and boost India's position in the global e-commerce sector. Amendments to the Courier Imports and Exports Regulations will allow exporters to claim benefits under Duty Drawback, RoDTEP, and RoSCTL schemes. The Indian Customs EDI System (ICES) will be used for processing claims to facilitate trade. The government has also introduced measures to streamline e-commerce exports, anticipating growth to $400 billion by 2030.
