Shri Govindarajan (IAS retd: Andhra Pradesh cadre, 1967), died after a brief illness on Sunday 25 December 2011.

In his death, we mourn the passing away of a valued colleague, and a void that will be difficult to fill”.
In a career spanning many decades, Shri Govindarajan served in many different capacities, including as Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion(DIPP); Secretary, Department of Company Affairs; Chairman, Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB); Additional Secretary dealing with multilateral development finance institutions such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF); Asian Development Bank etc; and as a Permanent Invitee to the Prime Minister’s Trade and Economic Reforms Committee (TERC).
